Water damage developed at this Laconia home when the air conditioning unit located on the second floor began leaking volumes of water. The before photo shows a good representation of just how much water was deposited on the stairway before it was discovered. The insurance adjuster and the homeowner felt the carpeting would need to be torn out and replaced. Sophisticated moisture monitoring equipment can be used to determine how much moisture had been absorbed by the subflooring. If the hi-tech monitor showed that the subflooring was alright then the carpeting, padding and subflooring could be dried by suctioning the water up and placing commercial air movers and dehumidifiers to aid in the drying process.
